Park celebrates Christmas in July with activities and visit from Santa
The celebration of Christmas on July 22 was a wonderful tradition in the making. Many day visitors and campground residents visited the Trails End Shelter to visit with Santa, toss a snowball and shop at the Santa Shop. Local artisans donated items to be sold, and many shoppers got a jump on their holiday lists. The Cocoa on a Stick, formally known as a fudgesicle, hit the spot on the warm July day. Friends of Ouabache sponsored the event, and any profits will be used to put on the annual Wonderland of Lights in December. Plans are already being made for next year’s event, tentatively scheduled for July 20, 2024, with addition of more decorations, games and items to be sold.
